At PFC we believe in the concept of learning through play and our focus is to professionally train and guide Early Childhood Providers and Teachers on the effective use of Arts Integration. Our professional trainers have the extensive experience in many areas of education and the performing arts both in West Africa and the United States.
We offer training programs that emphasizes on the integration of basic strategies and elements of music, drama and dance (Arts) into their curriculum in order to IGNITE CHILDREN’S IMAGINATION AND CULTIVATE INNOVATIVE THINKING, WHILE KEEPING THEM ENGAGED IN CREATIVE EXPRESSION.
Our experience in the United States since 1993, has delighted children, parents, teachers, and colleagues our wonderful work in area schools and as a Wolf Trap Performing Arts Master Teacher/Trainer and presenter of West African Culture. Our trainers have an exquisite drumming, story telling, singing and dancing skills which are incorporated as tools in our training programs. We have presented workshops in residencies, schools and various centers nationwide: notably Kennedy Center, Discovery Theater, the St. Thomas and Smithsonian Folklife Festival, Wolf Trap’s Theater in the Woods, the Filene Center and Virgin Islands.
With our membership in the “Theater Collectives for the UNFPA’s Community” development program for women’s groups in Ghana, we have taught many subjects including Social studies, Math, Science and English language at the elementary and middle school level as well as provided seminars and workshop for parents and educational corporate bodies. We have had the privilege to also coordinate and direct all student theaters for development community projects in the correctional facilities. orphanages, and child-care centers in Ghana.
We are currently the facilitators of the Wolf Trap’s Baby ARTSPLAY and ARTSPLAY in Fairfax County libraries, which is a fun filled literature based exploration of drama, dance and music for 0-5 years old children as well as offering proficient training for the preschool and early childhood education providers in Ghana.
